From humble beginnings
Tania’s passion for hospitality stems back to her teenage years. From her first job, as a store clerk at the age of 15, Tania was fascinated with the opportunity to communicate and interact with multiple individuals. Daily interactions with both store personnel and customers honed Tania into a multi-tasker who had one goal in mind – making others happy. Tania quickly grew her clerk duties, and took more of an administration role; overseeing the bookkeeping and coordinating of weekly advertisements. Subsequently, Tania stepped away from customer service and landed a role in the accounting department of a private company.
Tania became a mother of two adorable boys, and in the blink of an eye, ten years passed her by. Although her accounting role permitted her the flexibility to attend to her family and obtain her degree in Hotel Management, she felt a void professionally and knew something was missing. Facing an inner battle, Tania walked away from comfort and realigned herself with her passion for hospitality by taking a role for a catering company, where a new passion for event planning arose.
This is where life changed.
The thrill of constant interaction with diverse personalities was back! Working in a fast-paced and non-stop environment, Tania first-handedly lived the joy of others, witnessing the full transformation and uniqueness that each event brings was truly magical and priceless. It was here that her passion to guide and help people on their special day came to light. Tania began collaborating with other planners and became the go-to person for all her friends’ and family events. A few years later, Tania formed a partnership and co-founded her first event planning company. She later branched out on her own and started her own company, A Touch of Light.
